About the role:

The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for supporting the design, installation, commissioning, and operation of a new Battery Active Material (BAM) Factory. This position will join the engineering team tasked with the design and construction of the world’s largest production facility of next-generation lithium silicon anode materials.

What you’ll be doing:

• Working with EPC contractors in all phases of project.
• Assisting in the design, construction, and commissioning of process equipment.
• Developing technical requirements and design specifications for the BAM factory.
• Contributing to the creation and review of project documentation.
• Working with the project team to evaluate options and address project challenges during design and construction.
• Developing and contributing manufacturing best practices to facility-wide safety philosophy.
• Contributing in establishing policies, procedures and standards.
• Resolving technical issues with equipment and processes during the commissioning phase.
• Assisting operations and engineering in troubleshooting equipment problems.
• Supporting the existing processing facility via design reviews, technical input and project-specific tasks.

What we’re looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• MUST HAVE industrial engineering experience.
• Experience in materials production and/or chemical processing (preferred).
• Experience in capital project management.
• Experience with thermal processing equipment.
• Experience with bulk powders processing.
• Working understanding of and experience with industry codes, regulations and engineering standards.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Demonstrated organizational skills.

Other qualities we’d love for you to have:

• Experience in material handling.
• Experience with silicon gasses.
• Experience with carbon process.
• Start-up experience.
• Six-sigma certification or documented training.
• Experience in PSM-covered facilities.
