Job Summary

The Learning & Development Specialist is responsible for supporting developing and delivering high-impact learning programs to Delaware Life employees, and helping the organization achieve its vision and mission. This position is responsible for supporting the documentation, development and education needs of the company, with specific attention on the Annuities Business in the Delaware Life Zionsville office.

These documentation, development and education needs consist of Delaware Life products, systems, tools, processes and company procedures.

Main Accountabilities

  • Coordinates preparation of learning materials, training schedules, and fulfills all related department admin duties, as assigned
  • Designs (with supervision) and delivers basic in-person/virtual training courses in area(s) of expertise
  • Constructs lesson plans and related materials (with supervision), including, but not limited to activities, case studies, job aids, worksheets, etc. for in-person/virtual training courses in area(s) of expertise
  • Suggests modifications to training courses based on participants' feedback and other measures of effectiveness
  • Follows up with internal customers and working groups to evaluate existing training programs, materials and job aids, as assigned
  • Suggests content and reference resources updates and creates content in content management system(s) (with supervision), as assigned
  • Works in tandem with department colleagues to identify documentation, training and procedure needs, as assigned
  • Administers department LMS and metrics-tracking and professional development program tracking
  • Administers servicing and new business form updates, as assigned
  • Balances training obligations with other activities, project goals and timelines
  • Contributes to the completion of department goals, as assigned
  • Provides constructive feedback to learners and colleagues, and maintains composure under stress
  • Takes initiative to improve department’s effectiveness and/or processes
  • Develops self and always maintains knowledge in relevant field

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent related experience required (minimum of 1 year of Annuities Contact Center experience required)
  • Facilitation experience preferred
  • Annuities knowledge and/or industry experience in financial services or insurance preferred
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives 
  • Ability to adapt to change, and work both independently and within a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio)
  • Proficient in Survey Monkey (or similar survey tool)
  • SharePoint experience an asset
  • Salesforce experience an asset
  • Highly computer literate and able to quickly learn new software
