ROLE PURPOSE

To produce graphic material of the highest quality and in accordance with Grimshaw company standards and to deliver appropriate graphic design support to the Australian Practice

ROLE OVERVIEW

To design and execute original works, producing attractive and effective communication design across all types of media. Supporting the team throughout the execution of tender and proposal submissions, architectural competitions, event and marketing collateral, media campaigns and award submissions.

MAJOR TASKS

  • Support the practice in bidding work by collating and updating data needed for prequalification and tender submissions.
  • Support the practice by producing printed materials such as practice brochures and awards submissions.
  • Provide design advice on appropriate print finishes and packaging for competition entries.
  • Support marketing initiatives of the practice by creative design input into events, exhibitions and panel discussions, including; event ephemera, invitations, eDMs, social media, project displays, and exhibition panels.
  • Support partners, letterhead and architectural teams in preparing artwork, layouts and templates for reports and other presentation materials.
  • Ensure the practice has an up-to-date portfolio of work by maintaining currency of project pages and developing new project pages as directed.
  • Maintain the digital image library in close collaboration with BD and PR.
  • Support PR in supplying appropriate images and graphics for the practice website, including development of webpages and content as necessary.
  • Design support for our online presence and social media campaigns.
  • Provide technical advice and assistance in the use of company standard design files and brand guidelines.
  • Contribute to the delivery of an efficient and effective service by keeping up-to-date with technical developments and maintaining a working knowledge of new products and design techniques.
  • Participate in regular discussions with the wider team to share work, innovate, organise workflow and produce appropriate design solutions.
  • Help maintain files: versions, formats and project names within established framework.
  • Work closely with the Senior Designer to develop and design proposals, concepts and final artwork.
  • Liaising effectively with suppliers and other team members to meet deadlines.
  • Design presentations in both InDesign and PowerPoint.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • At least 5 years relevant experience (design and production of brochures, posters, logos, presentations, data visualisation)
  • Knowledge and understanding of best practice in design standards
  • Proficient in formatting and manipulating imagery and typography
  • Strong multi-tasking, organisation, typographic and layout skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven experience in working effectively with project teams
  • Proficient knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Experience working with MSO tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc.)
  • Digital design skills that can be applied to responsive websites, eDMs, digital banners and presentations
  • Know how to output artwork for both print and digital specifications
  • Able to work within tight deadlines
