Talent Acquisition Specialist

Position Description

Reports to: Human Resources Director, Grow Public Schools 

Position Summary:

The Talent Acquistion Specialist is responsible for identifying strong candidates for a multi-site organization which includes two school sites and a central home. In addition, the Talent Acquistion Specialist will be involved with facilitation of general onboarding processes, answering credentialing questions, and creating innovative recruitment and staffing initiatives for the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Work with the Human Resources Director to develop and implement strategic talent initiatives for recruiting highly effective teachers and home office talent for a multi-site organization
  • Partner with administration and home office leadership to forecast and develop plans for key staffing initiatives
  • Work with department and site managers and interview teams to ensure job requirements and expectations are clearly understood and candidates are assessed against appropriate criteria
  • Partner with the Marketing and Communications department to develop creative search initiatives and marketing events including job fairs, recruitment events
  • Develop a pool of qualified candidates in advance of need to ensure timely placement 
  • Maintain an active online presence to ensure postings are up-to-date and relevant (e.g., Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, various social media outlets) 
  • Assist in screening of résumés and walk-in applicants
  • Assist candidates through the background check, including collection of live scan fingerprints, tuberculosis assessment, and confirmation of any required credentials/permits.
  • In partnership with the HR Team, maintain updated records on certificated staff permits or credentials; assists in processing permit applications
  • Assist in new hire onboarding duties as needed
  • Facilitate new hire training and track important due dates
  • Promote and market the the Alder Graduate School of Education for prospective candidate
  • Support and collaborate with principals who work with Alder residents
  • Collaborate with the Alder team, principals, and home office team to recruit, select, and match residents/mentors each year

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to influence administration and school leadership in hiring decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a variety of constituents in a team centered environment 
  • Strong ability to participate in multiple project activities simultaneously
  • Savvy in Microsoft office and related business software programs 
  • Self-starter and capability to work independently in a growing organization with little or no supervision

Required Education and Experience:

  • B.A. degree in marketing, management, organizational development, business or human resources administration or related fields
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills and team based projects
  • Strong vendor management skills related to recruitment activities such as search firms and job boards 
  • Experience in general HR functions a plus
