Overview

PURPOSE:

As an Assistant Production Manager, your responsibilities are to oversee, plan, manage, lead and coordinate daily Production activities of your team to maximize performance and through put, minimize cost, maintain quality and endorse safety and operating procedures. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing team members while maintaining productivity and delivering quality product in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Plan and manage shift/s, schedules and run profiles.
• Monitor performance against facility goals.
• Maximize through put and efficiencies, while minimizing cost and deliver quality product.
• Coordinate with various departments for loads, scheduling, product availability and quality.
• Responsible for endorsing safety and food safety, coordinate with the Safety Department for health and safety of employees and property and Quality Department for Food Safety guidelines.
• Responsible for welfare of the team, ensuring proper training is done, appropriate PPE is available, and areas are clean and in a safe working condition.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to remain in a stationary position throughout much of the working day. Ability to occasionally move about inside the office, in food processing facilities, and in the farming fields. Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity equipment. Ability to work outdoors. Ability to visually inspect equipment and product. Must be able to work in different temperatures (working temperatures as hot as 100° to 110° F and as cold as 20° F to 32° F). Must be able to work in a high noise area.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have applicable experience in leading, building and maintaining morale of team
• Must have direct experience in utilizing resources related to quality, scheduling and line process
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English
• Must be able to work weekends and work on different shifts based on department needs
• Remote work not available for this position
• Must be able to travel occasionally both local and out of the area depending on business need
• Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean DMV driving record
• Must pass pre-placement drug/alcohol screen
