Griffis Residential is Hiring a Landscape Designer Near Englewood, CO

Overview

Landscape Designer reports to the Director of Maintenance Services and takes additional direction from the VP of Construction, Senior Construction Manager or SVP of Operations. Creates the landscape design of newly acquired assets as well as supports current design of established assets.Supports the operations and regional service teams to create and maintain visually appealing landscape that includes plant care, ongoing improvements, and updates throughout the life of the asset with Griffis Residential.

Responsibilities

Principal Responsibilities

  • Create design concepts with the designer, operations team, regional service team and landscape contractors upon acquisition of a new asset that includes material and structure selections that complement the environment and weather. This includes seasonal plantings and design of common areas, model tour paths, amenity, and high impact areas.
  • Ability to evaluate and execute capital and replacement landscape projects with high attention to detail.
  • Review and support execution of seasonal landscape contracts at each Griffis Residential community that includes routine maintenance of landscape and plant life for health and curb appeal that represents the company brand standards.
  • Complete quarterly quality control inspections and present data and findings to the Director of Maintenance Services for action items, replacement, and maintenance.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance Services, VP of Construction and SVP of Operations, and other Executive Officers.
  • Support ESG initiatives to improve environmental impact, reduce carbon footprint and enhance conservation of water and resources.
  • Manage warranty work with current landscape

Qualifications

Knowledge/Skills/Ability

  • Strong ability to communicate effectively with others.
  • Project management and construction supervision that includes overseeing projects to brand standards, meeting with contractors, vendors, and onsite team to create scopes of work, obtain a minimum of three competitive bids and execute contracts and agreements for projects and capital enhancements.
  • Knowledge of plant materials, annuals, etc. that includes maintenance and longevity.
  • Ability to establish priorities, manages time effectively, work and proceed with objectives and projects independently.
  • Ability to respond to and resolve unexpected problems and manage priority changes in a fast-moving and fluid environment.
  • Ability to comprehend legal documents and carry out related contracts and service agreements.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Design and Contracting
  • Adobe Suite, Photoshop, CAD, Sketchup/3D modeling required, hand graphics preferred
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in landscape design
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record required

Other

  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
