GG A Who We Are and What We Do Summary
The Market Research Manager (MRM) is a key member of the firm's onsite Marketing team, reporting directly to the Executive Director, Marketing. The person in this position is responsible for the quality, integrity, and reporting of the data stored in the Firm's CRM (Salesforce). Sitting at the intersection of marketing and business development, the Lead will be a data driven and strategic marketing analyst. Collaborating with the business development team, this person will identify, research, and analyze prospects for cultivation and solicitation and create opportunities through strategic lead generation.
This position will be responsible for empowering the marketing and business development teams with data & analytics to make informed decisions regarding marketing mix, A/B testing of marketing activity and outreach.
The MRM will be passionate about the mission of the firm, live the core values established by leadership, and support a high-performance culture that engages, motivates and focuses the firm's consulting talent in pursuit of profitable growth.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or communications preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience in market research and/or prospect management tracking, with demonstrated experience in prospect research methodology and practice
- Ability to identify opportunities proactively and routinely report recommendations to marketing/business development that align with goals and KPIs
- Experience utilizing statistical practices and tools, excellent analytical and quantitative skills, including the ability to manipulate, analyze, and interpret data and statistical model
- Outstanding written and verbal communications skills
- Functional domain knowledge, i.e. understanding of advancement, development and fundraising business models, decision makers and spending cycles
- Experience with CRM automation tools (e.g. SalesForce.com), marketing automation platforms (e.g. HubSpot), and analytic tools (e.g. Tableau) a plus

Prospect Research
- Provide research on individuals, organizations and institutions using a wide variety of resources to assess a quality of prospect- includes generally available and subscription systems to which the firm has access
- Create templates for various types of research profiles including assessments, snapshots, and in-depth profiles to fit the needs of a given strategy
- Implement and improve processes for fielding prospect research requests
- Work cross functionally with Knowledge Resources group to mine and research the external landscape to identify prospects and monitor news alerts on current constituents
Prospect Identification and Portfolio Development
- Proactively and independently plan and execute strategies to identify and update CRM data to ensure a consistently maintained database of decisions-makers at client and prospect organizations.
- Conduct relationship mapping between consultants, institutions, and institutional decision makers to identify prospects
- Innovate ways to develop and execute strategies to ensure that newly identified prospects are presented and assigned to appropriate frontline staff in a timely manner and through use of Salesforce CRM
- Utilize Salesforce CRM to automate individual and firm-wide reporting on prospect related marketing activity and sales growth
