Job Requisition #: 022912 Electrical Engineer (Open) Job Description: Reporting to the Engineering Manager this role will be responsible for initiating, designing, managing, and executing engineering solutions for production processes, facility reliability. Provide technical assistance in troubleshooting and shutdown work planning. Support operations and maintenance to achieve mill goals by utilizing engineering and project management skills to develop and implement projects. The position requires a strong balance between past hands-on experience, analytical engineering, project management, direct contractor management and familiarity of the National Electric Code. Key Responsibilities Evaluate existing production equipment and layout to engineer design improvements enhancing productivity, cost efficiency, reliability, and safety. Can work an industrial setting with minimal guidance. Support optimization of manufacturing processes, including process control, set-up, changeover, automation, and new equipment selections. Lead major projects, develop project proposals, evaluates project feasibility and other activities as required. Support operational improvement and strategic growth plans. Consult and lead with internal and external teams as needed. Manages multiple large ($2.5MM) to small size ($250K) capital projects. This includes scope development, specifications, schedule, estimating, cost tracking and resource planning for engineering and other technical activities relating to the project to ensure safety, regulatory, and policy requirements are met. Interface, coordinate, and support internal mill customers (operations and reliability), outside contractors, estimates costs, tracks proposals and manages projects execution to scope. Provides complex technical consultation to plant management and maintenance groups pertaining to installation, trouble shooting, process control and repair of existing equipment. Coordinates with the internal EH&S resources to implement equipment safety standards and procedures. Support equipment safety upgrades as needed in the plant network. Supports commitment-based safety. Support maintenance activities during mill/department shutdowns. Planning and execution of small projects. Oversee contractors’ and self-preformed work including, electrical construction and outside engineering work. Manage design and procurement of special or unique repair parts, materials, and services. Inspect electrical distribution systems and process equipment for defects and repairs needs and implement cost-effective solutions to mitigate. Lead action teams for capital projects with the engineering department for equipment selection, spare parts and preventative maintenance. Lead multi-disciplined teams in Root Cause Problem Solving activities. Produce electrical schematics and/or elementaries in AutoCAD Education and Experience: B.S. Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology Engineering required. Advanced degree a plus. P.E. certification preferred but not required. 5 years minimum (10-15 years preferred) in manufacturing environment with practical expertise in electrical engineering. Knowledge and Skills: Strong background in project planning, prioritization, and implementation.
