Assistant / Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice

SUMMARY:

Palm Beach Atlantic University's Gregory School of Pharmacy seeks a 12-month, full-time faculty member for a position at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice. Preferred ambulatory care or psychiatry training.

The successful candidate will be responsible for didactic teaching in courses/topics appropriate to the candidate's expertise. The candidate will additionally develop and/or maintain a successful clinical experiential practice at a local healthcare facility, contribute to operational aspects of the School of Pharmacy, and engage in research/scholarship in the associated areas of expertise.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Provides didactic and/or clinical instruction within assigned courses.

* Maintains an active clinical practice in accordance with area of specialty.

* Integrates faith and professional values into instructional activities where applicable.

* Serves as an advisor to PharmD students as assigned.

* Conducts research and/or scholarly activity associated with areas of his/her expertise that is either published or presented following peer review.

* Participates actively in professional organizations associated with his/her discipline.

* Serves as a role model of professional, servant leader behavior to students.

* Participates in other duties as assigned in service to the school or university.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Must be able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with students, faculty, administrators, patients, and other health professionals.

* Adept at organizing complex scientific and professional subject matter and designing instructional strategies that make the material understandable and applicable.

* Skill in using computer software, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required, as is the ability to use electronic and internet educational and professional resources.

* A comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy practice, in a specific discipline, is essential, along with strong critical thinking skills and the ability to function effectively and collaboratively as part of an educational and research team.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

* Doctor of Pharmacy degree and an ASHP-accredited PGY-1 residency required. Ambulatory care preferred.

* The candidate must be eligible for licensure in Florida. The candidate must demonstrate a Christian commitment and a willingness to integrate one's faith into teaching and mentorship.
