NATURE OF WORK

Under direct supervision of the Detox Manager, this position performs professional nursing duties involved in the medially managed detoxification treatment of clients. Responsible for the daily operation of the Detoxification Center during assigned shift operation of the Detoxification Center during assigned shift operation.

This position involves activities that require ability to lift 30 lbs., reaching, climbing and grasping. Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken work levels. Visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing surroundings and activities. The worker is not subjected to adverse environmental conditions.

JOB DUTIES

• Utilizes special skill, care knowledge and judgment in providing a wide range of nursing care.
• Directs, plans, and supports technicians and other staff in providing care and treatment.
• Confers with medical director in determining client care and treatment.
• Conducts nursing medical assessment of each patient admitted to treatment.
• Uses clinical judgment in conjunction with physician’s orders and prepares prescribed medication.
• Performs and./or supervises the administration of prescribed medication to clients.
• Maintains the security of all controlled drugs, prescriptions and over-the-counter medicine.
• Identifies medical and supplies needs and maintains appropriate inventory records.
• Position duties may require working different shifts.

Possess of a current Nursing Licensed from the State of South Carolina. Good computer skills and prior AOD or psycho-social experience desired.
