WHAT YOU’LL DO

A Class B Driver for GreenPower Motor Company is responsible for safely operating medium and heavy-duty vehicles. This position will report directly to the Fleet Manager.

• Operate vehicles in accordance with Occupational and Safety Health Act (OSHA)/Department of Transportation (DOT) requires as well as all local, state and federal requirements; maintains a clean and safe vehicle.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle using utilizing standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report).
• Ensure the vehicle is operating correctly while on the route and notifies management of any concerns.
• Immediately reports any unsafe situations/service calls to management before attempting service.
• Work closely with Route Supervisors to improve route efficiencies and identify problems or unsafe accounts.
• Perform all duties as scheduled by management, assisting other team members as directed.
• Maintain and protect all property in excellent condition.
• Notify management of any incidents/accidents/injures/property damage.
• Follow route assignments throughout the day and completes all documentation when checking-in at the end of the route.
• Provide a positive professional customer attitude when dealing with customers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

• Valid Class A or B Driver License
• Must have current State of California Class B license with Passenger endorsement
• 3 years of experience operating a commercial vehicle
• Minimum of 6 months experience in a heavy labor role
• Acceptable Driver Record
• Able to meet all DOT requirements
• Ability to pass DOT and FTA pre-employment drug screening and meet DOT medical requirements

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Standing, walking, seeing, hearing, & smelling continuously.
• Problem solving, oral/written communication, analytical ability, concentration, & interpersonal abilities continuously.
• Eye/hand coordination, handling, & wrist motion continuously.
• Bending, reaching, stretching, frequently, and lifting 50 Lbs. frequently.

ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Exposure to dust, smoke, fumes, odors, grease, oil, chemicals, wet/hot conditions, & noise continuously.

Works outside only.
