Summary/Objective

Well-rounded and able to perform the primary functions of all hourly positions of the location, called on to troubleshoot or assist with more complicated matters, assists with a variety of needs for the location, including treating seed and overseeing the Fertilizer operation.Acts as a mentor toward other hourly employees.

Essential Functions

• Support and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental policies and practices.
• Successfully carries out the general duties of assigned area
• Assist with managing the Fertilizer operation in a safe matter, including knowing its use and how to apply, inventory controls and storage, etc.
• Assist with managing the Seed Treating Operation, including understanding the many aspects of seed production, storage, planting, etc.
• Follow all required quality procedures and document accurately
• Assists with maintaining an accurate treatment chemical inventory
• Assist with maintenance of seed treating equipment
• Relieves employees in other functional areas as necessary
• Effectively troubleshoots more complicated matters and provide solutions where others may struggle
• Maintains a high level of expertise to establish themselves as a reliable and credible source of operational knowledge
• Teaches and mentors other employees on how to correctly perform their job tasks
• Other duties as assigned

Supervisor Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; may be offset by experience
• Three (3) plus years of direct experience in the agriculture industry
• Valid driver’s license; must be able to meet a Motor Vehicle Review in accordance with Company policy

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a warehouse or outdoor agricultural setting.Employee will regularly encounter extreme temperatures, adverse weather, dust, loud noises, and a hazardous agricultural and/or industrial environment that requires regular use of PPE.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Ability to regularly lift more than 50 pounds, climb ladders, perform preventive maintenance activities, and assist other plant/warehouse workers in various physical duties necessary in running an agricultural location. Employee will regularly be required to walk, stand, lift, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, handle, feel and grasp.Workload is frequently medium to heavy.

Travel

Travel throughout the assigned location to assist the Farmers
