GENERAL FUNCTION: This position supports the work of the Greater Wichita YMCA, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Performs advanced level functions related to membership and program billing and receivable functions.

MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

Education / Experience Requirements:

1. At least three years’ experience in accounts receivable and/or billing functions, or equivalent relevant experience.

2. Knowledge of and expertise with computerized accounting systems and sound working knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing.

3. Strong customer service and relationship building skills.

Physical / Mental Requirements:

1. Must be able to frequently perform the following physical activities; bend, stoop, kneel, twist, reach with hands, sit for extended periods of time, move up to 35 pounds, have finger dexterity, grasp, perform repetitive motions, and have visual acuity to perform detailed tasks on a computer.

2. Must have ability to count and do basic accounting related math

3. Must communicate effectively; both orally and in writing

4. Must possess problem solving, organizational and task management skills; ability to make independent and sound decisions in a rapidly changing environment

5. Must be detail oriented and exhibit a high degree of accuracy and alertness

6. Must be able to show initiative in the absence of supervision

7. Must work collaboratively as a team member as well as independently

8. Must be able to relate to and work with diverse groups of people in a friendly and consistent manner

9. Maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times

3. Able to travel to various sites throughout the Greater Wichita YMCA.

4. Understand and abide-by all policies and procedures as set forth by the association

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Providing excellent service by having knowledge of YMCA programs, services and systems

2. Processes third party billings for corporate memberships and others; prepares and reports usage data as requested by third parties; responds to questions or requests from third parties

3. Coordinates with membership team on changes needed to customer membership orders

4. Assists in monitoring and follow up on unpaid receivables

5. Processes renewals for annual membership types

6. Processes billings to third party insurance companies

7. Completes monthly recurring bank and credit card draft processes for memberships, programs and childcare

8. Takes initiative to develop others

9. Embraces new approaches and discovers ideas to create a better customer experience

10. Demonstrates an openness to change, and seeks opportunities in the change process

11. Clarifies tasks, plans work and actively participates in all staff meetings and trainings

12. Performs other duties as assigned, including cross training in other Metro Finance functions

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $23.25 per hour
