Overview

Greater Nevada Credit Union is looking for an Accounting Manager with a passion for Helping More People Live Greater.

About The Position:

The Accounting Manager is responsible for organizing, directing and leading the daily operations of the accounting functions. Ensures that accounting and financial procedures are aligned to generally accepted accounting principles. Works with a broad spectrum of internal and external parties to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial and operational metrics for Greater Nevada Credit Union, Greater Nevada Mortgage, Greater Commercial Lending and Greater Nevada Financial Group.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Direct and coordinate the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all revenues and costs incurred are properly recorded and financials are issued for all companies in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the financial and regulatory reporting and general ledger structure to maximize the facilitation of current and future reporting requirements. Perform appropriate analysis of all general ledger accounts and financial statements and communicate to management.
  • Ensure that accounts payable are processed timely and accurately.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance. Manage corporate documents that facilitate audits and due diligence.
  • Ensure that reconciliations are prepared accurately and timely, including all cash accounts.

Preferred Qualifications

Skills

  • Prepares and reviews financial reports, analyzes results, and presents findings and recommendations to senior management
  • Prepares quarterly regulatory reporting
  • Demonstrated experience leading the operational aspects of the financial and operational reporting process
  • Promotes organizational efficiencies to improve quality and quantity of member service with accounting/finance related technology, enhanced employee productivity, and communication 
  • In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of your job, you may regularly be required to sit and use a keyboard, multiple monitors, mouse, and telephone (including repetitive motions with hands, fingers, arms, etc.) for extended periods of time. You may also frequently be required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms, bend, and kneel.
  • You may occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
