Job Summary

The Plant Accountant is responsible to provide support to the Finance Controller, Director of Operations, Plant Managers, and corporate team. The Plant Accountant will also support the Finance function through its participation in the preparation of financial & costing analysis, budgets, performance measurements and ad hoc analysis relating to plant operations.

Principle Accountabilities

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Accounting Support:
  • Making Journal Entries in SAP
  • Recording all daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly transactions
  • Supporting month and year closure activities
  • Support in preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP, 
  • Support in maintaining financial accounting system for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory.
• Costing Support & MIS:
  • Responsible for the establishment, maintenance, and analysis of packaging/manufacturing costs, including packing material (components), labor, and overhead spending.
  • Review standard product costings, bills of materials, and work orders for accuracy.
  • Prepare and submit monthly MIS and provide financial analytics to the management including budget vs. actual analysis and standard cost vs. actual cost analysis. 
  • Analyze product profitability and report on financial results to management.
• P2P Management:
  • Receiving the invoices from the various departments
  • Account Payable Management activities including verification of invoices (3-way match) and creation for wires in the banking portal for processing.
  • Supporting in PO’s review process
  • Create POs on need basis
• Inventory Management:
  • Monthly inventory valuation 
  • Inventory verification and control and circulating weekly inventory aging reports.
  • Monitor and track inventory usage through blending and packaging process.
  • Oversee and reconcile inventory cycle counts and annual physical inventory.
  • Coordinate development of accounting processes throughout plant to ensure inventory accuracy.
• R2R Support:
  • Circulate invoices to customers
  • Apply cash receivables against the invoices
  • Circulating weekly Account Receivables Aging Report. 
• Support to other departments as required, including plant management, quality, purchasing, planning and supply chain services.
• Assisting Controller for setting up EDI and other accounting systems for Distribution.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITES: 

· Perform other job-related duties as assigned at the discretion of management.

Requirements

 Preferred Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills with all levels– written and oral required.
• Strong problem solving, analytical and business partnering skills are required.
• Must demonstrate the ability to lead across functions at all levels of the organization.
• Strong background, knowledge and proven skills in management accounting, cost and inventory accounting, GAAP, MS Excel, SAP system.
• Strong analytical skills are required to quickly grasp issues impacting the plants’ financial results.
• Strong IT aptitude to deliver effective reporting, analysis, and presentations.
• Ability to manage projects, work independently, and communicate effectively to all areas and levels of the organization.

Experience & Education

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or similar discipline is required; an advanced degree (MBA) is preferred.
• Manufacturing experience is must
• A minimum of 7 years of Finance/Accounting experience is required.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry is required.
