Grand Traverse Container is Hiring an Onsite Recruiter Near Grand Rapids, MI

Grand Traverse Container is looking for a Recruiter with full cycle recruiting experience, from talent sourcing and attracting candidates to interviewing and hiring great employees. A successful recruiter will collaborate with managers on a regular basis and proactively identify current & future hiring needs. This individual should also be able to attract candidates using various sources, like social media networks and employee referrals.

Our ideal recruiter will be a self-starter individual who thrives being creative and dynamic. The ideal candidate would have a passion for people, who can help promote Grand Traverse Container as a destination employer!

Responsibilities

  • Leads by example, with a servant leadership mentality
  • Develops, facilitates, and implements all phases of the recruitment process.
  • Collaborates with Plant Managers and the Human Resources team to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.
  • Identifies and implements efficient, and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available roles, job standards, and the needs of the organization.
  • Implements job postings and advertising processes, working closely with the Human Resources team
  • Screens applications and selects qualified candidates.
  • Schedules & conducts candidates to interview (via phone, video and in-person)
  • Monitors key HR metrics, including time-to-fill, time-to-hire and source of hire
  • Collaborates with management and the Human Resources team during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies
  • Attends and participates in job fairs and recruiting sessions
  • Collects data on cost per hire and time-to-hire
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with good negotiation tactics
  • Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for variety of roles
  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software or other recruitment systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma required
  • Minimum of 2 years of managing all phases of the recruitment and hiring process is required

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
