Position Summary:

The successful performance of the Volunteer Coordinator position requires meeting high standards in the following area: Volunteer recruitment/supervision. Social media, data entry, administrative skills, coordinating large mailings, maintaining an email list serve and record keeping in an EMR data base. As well as providing annual continuing education for all active volunteers.

Qualifications:

  • College degree
  • Proficient computer skills: Microsoft office, excel and publisher and a willingness to learn other software programs.
  • Excellent time management skills,
  • Attention to detail, problem solving and adaptability are essential
  • Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend English
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
  • Ability to respect confidentiality
  • Flexibility to work remotely

Interpersonal Relationships

  • Displays an attitude of courtesy and respect for all prospective patients, families, staff and referral source
  • Functions as a team member with other staff in the performance of duties.
  • Seeks and accepts feedback regarding the performance of job duties.
  • Is aware of patient confidentiality and adheres to HIPPA regulations.
  • Displays an understanding of vulnerable adult issues. 
  • Displays an understanding of hospice patients’ rights.
  • Exhibits sound mature judgment.
