About The Role

This role is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level, working closely with the HR Manager to accomplish goals. There is involvement in the broad range of functional HR areas including recruitment, on-boarding, benefits, training, and employee relations. This position provides a wide variety of both complex and routine administrative services.

This full-time role reports directly to the CHRO and is based in Berkeley.

Responsibilities

  • Administers and maintains company benefits programs. Functions as liaison between vendors and employees and advises on eligibility, coverage and other benefits matters.
  • Provides support in functional areas of the HR department.
  • Supports multiple teams, in a variety of areas.
  • Assist and administer internal programs and benefits.
  • Assists with research and development of People Ops programs. Provides program information and communicates program changes.
  • Answers employees questions and assists with the resolution of problems.
  • Gathers and compiles information and produces reports (project status, staffing, financial, etc.).
  • Processes invoices for benefits.
  • Answers routine correspondence.
  • Establishes and maintains files (personnel, project, benefits, etc.).
  • Solid working knowledge of ADA, FMLA, CFRA, PDL, SDI and Workers’ Compensation, FMLA/CFRA leave tracking and EEOC compliance
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs in conjunction with VP of HR
  • Performs payroll processing and updates employee information on HRIS System
  • Maintains workplace safety and is part of the Safety Committee.
  • Up-to-date on all federal and state HR related law/regulations & compliance
  • Coordination of all company-wide events

Requirements

  • 6 years of progressive HR experience in a high speed, high growth environment
  • Strong communications and relationship building skills to effectively support and connect with a diverse and valuable team
  • Not afraid to roll sleeves up and get involved in all aspects of the role - no job too big or too small
  • Well-developed analytical and influencing skills, unquestioned integrity and a confident presence to effectively resolve sensitive employee issue
  • Self-directed but also great at collaborating with employees at all levels and with many different teams
  • Ability to perceive, understand, judge, and come to a reasonable and logical conclusion in order to have the best outcome in any given situation

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in a related field
