SUMMARY

The Solution Engineer is the technical lead for new sales initiatives. They are responsible for technical and business requirement discovery, solution design/engineering/consulting, proposal preparation support, and technical presentations to customers and partners for GPS Insight's Field Service Management solutions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Assist the Sales Team in discovery sessions with prospective customers. Document their business needs and discuss how our solutions fit their requirements.
  • Create and own solution demonstration environments and support prospective customer demonstrations.
  • Support the sales team in the completion of RFI and RFP responses.
  • Define the value proposition and benefit of a prospects integrated solution.
  • Document and present a proposed integrated solution and business case to customers.
  • Participate in strategic and tactical account planning meetings.
  • Understand field service software and environmental constraints to properly manage prospective customer expectations.
  • Clearly communicate the prospect's/customer's design to the teams responsible implementing the solution and providing ongoing support.
  • Build relationships with prospects, customers, and partners by serving as the technical liaison for pre-sales to post-sales, with the goal of being the customer's trusted advisor.
  • Serve as a technical liaison with integration vendors and become subject matter experts on their products and how they are used with GPSI solutions.
  • Grow strategic product sales and revenue through proactive engagement with customers as part of a coordinated account team.
  • Uses consultative selling and customer questioning techniques in order to identify new opportunities to sell within existing accounts.
  • Follow industry technology trends through self-study and formal training.
  • Other job duties as assigned.
  • This role reports into the Director of Solution Engineering.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related business experience.
  • 5 years of sales engineering experience in supporting sales of complex transformative SaaS based business applications designed and deployed in companies that have an annual turnover of greater than $500M.
  • Business consulting experience is a plus
  • Engineering background is a plus
  • Experienced building Return on Investment business cases with prospects to support their investment decision making.
  • Effective presentation, analytical, communications and customer relationship skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Ability to work autonomously on multiple projects and associated deliverables.
  • Time management skills are a critical requirement.
  • A strong understanding of field service industry is a bonus.
  • Business and technical requirements discovery; ability to craft a solution based on those requirements.
  • Familiarity with APIs to help partners and customers with technical solutions is a plus.
  • Ability to query and manipulate data with BI tool or SQL.
  • Some travel is required.
