Senior Project Manager – Solar
Summary:
The Senior Project Manager will oversee commercial solar or solar plus storage projects from the inception/estimating phase, through design, engineering, construction, and handover to O&M, taking full ownership of the projects and coordinating all internal and external stakeholders to achieve the identified project requirements. The Senior Project Manager also manages other project managers and associate project managers who are doing the same.
Primary Duties:
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, installers, inspectors, and internal teams
- Project manage the most complex projects within the team
- Create project schedules and identify key milestones
- Manage costs and conduct project financial projections for the team’s projects on a monthly basis
- Conduct regular project team meetings
- Provide status reports to various project stakeholders
- Help engineering team to develop design drawing packages for various milestones of the project development cycle (interconnection, permitting, construction)
- Develop estimates and run take-offs based on technical drawings
- Request and negotiate pricing for project specific products and/or services
- Ensure projects are adhering to the requirements of the AHJ, utility and engineering team(s)
- Manage subcontractors and consultants to ensure project requirements, project margins are being met
- Grow the team and supervise up to 5 project managers and associate project managers
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field desired
- 5 years field experience on commercial PV installations required
- 5 years in the solar industry required
- 3 years’ experience managing community solar garden EPC projects
- Energy storage experience desirable
- NABCEP PV Installation Professional (desired)
- FAA part 107 (desired)
- NEC code knowledge (required)
- Thorough understanding of commercial PV installations, components, and solutions required
- Effective time management, organization, and prioritization abilities
- Demonstrated leadership and influence skills
- Proven analytical abilities
- Intermediate software knowledge:
- MS Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel
- Bluebeam/Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Primavera/MS Project desired
- Helioscope desired
