Family owned Funeral Home is seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist to provide accounting and administrative support in a fast-paced and productive work environment. This is a full-time position working Mon-Fri from 8:00 am-4:00 pm with occasional holiday coverage.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide general administrative and financial support to the entire team.
• Prepare & track weekly and monthly billing; review invoices and account contacts, print and mail invoices. 
• Data entry with financial systems and excel spreadsheets to ensure information is accurately reported and filed.
• Enter data into records for funeral services and pre-arranged funeral services.
• Assist with monthly accounting close, including preparing spreadsheets, researching trends, and some data entry with QuickBooks.
• Processing credit card payments and helping to answer phones.
• Mailing bill statements and other correspondence.
• Review death certificates for accuracy and completeness.
• Cross-train and assist with various office functions..

What Does It Take to Be Qualified?

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Excellent MS Office Suite skills (specifically MS Excel and Word) and Google Docs
• Knowledge of QuickBooks or a comparable bookkeeping system is helpful

Compensation

The hiring range for this position is $45,000- $50,000 annually depending on skills and experience.
