Responsibilities

Summary/Objective

Under the direction of the Talent Acquisition Manager, the Talent Acquisition Coordinator supports the human capital needs of the organization. Responsible for managing the candidate flow from resume reviews, phone screens, or face-to-face interviews and scheduling candidates to meet with hiring managers through candidate selection. The Talent Acquisition Coordinator will focus on candidate process improvement and strategy development. The Talent Acquisition Coordinator will foster collaborative teamwork and a strong service-oriented culture. Responsible for recruiting staff for Goodwill of Western Missouri & Eastern Kansas. 

  • Understand how to recruit candidates, attract highly qualified candidates, and move them through our talent acquisition process--resulting in hires of the highest caliber candidates.
  • Establishes recruiting requirements by studying agency plans and objectives; meeting with Hiring Managers to discuss needs and maintaining constant communication for needed adjustments.
  • Achieves staffing objectives across the agency, with the primary focus being on business solution partners.
  • Engages community partners, such as high schools, colleges, service providers, and local government to build relationships and participate in community events that lead to candidate referrals.
  • Builds applicant sources using social media, media, our website, internet posting opportunities, etc.
  • Sources, investigates, and recommends additional low-cost applicant resources and/or activities to increase the potential employee selection pool.
  • Build reports to show the number of applicants, applicants rejected, applicants accepted, applicants in cue waiting to be interviewed, and positions filled at each location.
  • Performs most of the applicant prescreening, including scanning applications and performing phone screenings, in order to produce qualified candidates. Schedule candidate interviews as needed by the management team.
  • Ensure managers are trained in the interview process and assess interviewing techniques through observation and provide feedback to ensure consistency.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Collect candidate experience feedback.
  • Develops and cultivates networking and sourcing opportunities with professional organizations.
  • Stays current on employment laws, market trends, and industry issues.

Hybrid Work Environment

This job operates in both a professional office environment and virtually. The role routinely uses standard office equipment.

Physical Demand

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is primarily a sedentary role, although some packaging and signage delivery is required. The employee must have the ability to communicate verbally and apply active listening skills, lift up to 25 pounds, and bend and stand as necessary.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work/Travel

This is a full-time position with a hybrid work model, allowing both in-office and remote work flexibility, as agreed upon with the supervisor. Work hours are generally Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., however, some flexibility of the schedule is permissible with supervisor approval. Overtime, evenings and weekend work may be required, as well as occasional day-time travel. Overnight travel is limited to professional development or periodic business meetings or store openings and is generally only two or three times per year. A driver’s license, good driving record, liability insurance, and a vehicle in good working condition to travel on work-related business is necessary.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with the employee life cycle and best hiring practices.
  • Previous Applicant Tracking System (ATS) experience preferred
  • 2 years of recruiting experience preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding customer service skills; familiarity with engaging strangers in person and on the phone.
  • Strong administrative skills, including record keeping.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to self-manage and take initiative with a passion for diversity.
  • Critical thinking and problem solving; good judgment related to matching a candidate to the right job match.
  • Must have and maintain reliable transportation, clean MVR, valid license, and insurance.
  • Extensive knowledge of the functions and capabilities of an applicant tracking system and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
