Goodwill of Western MO & Eastern KS is Hiring a Program Coordinator Near Kansas City, MO

Responsibilities

Summary/Objective

Reporting to the Director of Workforce Development, the Program Coordinator develops and coordinates training courses and operations for the Goodwill Artemis Institute. The Program Coordinator is responsible for maintaining and strengthening processes for student enrollment, training facilitation and program evaluation, as well as developing and maintaining partnerships with industry employers and other credentialing organizations for the purposes of achieving program outcomes.

Essential Functions

  • Oversee the identification, creation, and facilitation of training courses for the Goodwill Artemis Institute, based on labor market information and feedback from industry partners.
  • Achieve realistic key performance metrics and outcomes for the Goodwill Artemis Institute training courses.
  • Collaborates with Workforce Development Specialists, Adult Education Instructors, Contract Instructors, Business Solutions Manager, and other key team members to organize and facilitate quality training programs for students.
  • Identify, engage, and guide the Goodwill Artemis Institute Instructors in facilitating training curriculum, serving as the backup classroom instructor in times of need.
  • Create and leverage relationships with industry experts, employer partners, and other subject matter experts.
  • Create and develop relationships with other credentialing organizations in order to create the most effective career advancement opportunities for students.
  • Serves as an enthusiastic, well-informed agency spokesperson at key events to raise awareness, understanding, and support for agency programs.
  • Maintain student information in the customer relationship management (CRM) database according to standards.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of student information.
  • Complete tasks in compliance with all company policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders inside and outside of agency to increase the quality of career advancement programming and the student experience.
  • All other duties as assigned by the Director of Workforce Development.

Work Environment

This job operates in varied environments which may include stores, manufacturing facilities, warehouses, correctional facilities, and office environments. Work environments will include indoor and outdoor locations with potential weather extremes. This role routinely operates office equipment.

Physical Demand

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is an active role. The employee must have the ability to communicate verbally and apply active listening skills, lift up to 25 pounds, bend and possibly stand for prolonged periods of time as necessary.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work/Travel

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Office hours are generally Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., however some flexibility of the schedule is permissible with supervisor approval. As a non-exempt position, occasional night-time or weekend work will be required. Occasional day-time travel to supported locations is required.

Qualifications

The Program Coordinator will be a proven leader with the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 1-3 years of applicable program management experience. Direct applicable experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Proven successful experience facilitating adult learners, large groups of diverse constituents.
  • Strong knowledge of the workforce development sector, career exploration and career pathways models.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to create positive employer/participant relations.
  • Experience in developing revenue generating/self-sustaining business plans and programs experience using and facilitating the use of assistive technology strongly preferred.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work both independently through self-motivation in an unstructured position and with a team and stakeholders from many different areas.
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to recognize potential problems within processes and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Microsoft Office and Windows proficiency.
  • Must have and maintain reliable transportation, clean MVR, valid license and insurance to drive for company-related business.
