This is a seasonal position: November 18th - December 31st
Assisting with the Fantasy of Lights event at Lighthouse Point Park in New Haven
Pay Rate: 16/Hour!!
SUMMARY
Works under the direction of the Event Coordinator. Performs diversified duties to assist staff and volunteers in the nightly coordination of event including set-up, greeting customers, and directing traffic flow.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Ensures that all signage is prepared and appropriately displayed.
Provides on-site, nightly support of all activities related to the event as directed by the event coordinator
Attends and participates in staff, volunteer advisory committee meetings and training sessions to coordinate activities and gain expertise and/or experience in relevant areas of responsibility.
Assist with directing customers, including helping traffic flow and being stationed to report any issues within park grounds.
Personal vehicle is required to perform essential duties.
Perform other related essential duties as required or directed.

Works closely with development department personnel and volunteers to successfully run the event.
QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of volunteers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid Connecticut Driver's License.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee may occasionally be required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee may be exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
