Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for traveling to locations to provide instruction and coaching of ambassadors to ensure they gain the skills needed to perform the functions of their position. Instructing and coaching includes demonstration and feedback of essential functions, organizational standards, and position competencies. Documents and provides input on Paid trainees’ progress through weekly notes and regular assessments. Facilitates Onboarding and provides support for Leader Step 1 quarterly trainings.

Essential Functions Statement(s):

  • Supports Paid Trainees throughout the county from start of program through completion. Uses the three-month training plan to consistently train, develop, and assess Paid Trainees. Reviews eLearnings and checklist to assist with skill development.
  • Role models the cultural and behavioral expectations. Follows policies and procedures, and coaches Paid Trainees when there are deviations.
  • Coordinates schedule according to business needs and works with site management to collaborate on training to support ambassadors in successfully completing the Paid Training Program.
  • Documents trainees’ progress in weekly notes and provides input on regular assessments. Ensures site management completes weekly notes and presents assessments to the trainee.
  • Provides Learning & Development Coordinator regular feedback on weekly evaluations and all other paperwork for the paid trainees.
  • Provides suggestions of resources that can assist Paid Trainees in removing barriers to employment.
  • Participates in the Paid Training graduation.
  • Supports site management in reviewing the progress of new ambassadors on their onboarding training plan during the first 90 days of hire.
  • Gains proficiency and stays abreast of current operational procedures for department involved in the paid training program to properly instruct paid trainees. Demonstrates the tasks.
  • Reports completion of Level 1 trainings and facilitates classes as needed.
  • Facilitates Onboarding program. Acts as point of contact for Onboarding, coordinating details with Human Resources to support new hire. 
  • Updates, edits, and develops operational training for checklists, eLearnings, and job aids.
  • Maintains a safe, organized, efficient and neat work area. Safeguards company property and abides by all safety procedures.
  • Provides exceptional customer service to all ambassadors.
  • Promotes, demonstrates, and role models the core values including professionalism, confidentially, interpersonal skills, and teamwork with all interactions with ambassadors, site management and other departments at all times.
  • Participates in department meetings as scheduled.
  • Contributes to the goals of the Learning & Development Team in order to meet or exceed performance measures.
  • Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned or directed.
  • Qualifications

    SKILLS & ABILITIES:

    Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred

    Experience: Two to four years related experience 

    Computer skills: Email, Microsoft Office Systems, Excel

    Certificates & Licenses: Must have car, valid CA Driver's License, and a driving record acceptable to GISD's insurance company.

    Amount of Travel Required: 75%
