THE POSITION

The Retail Store Associate works under the direct supervision of the Retail Store Manager and is responsible for sorting and quality selection of apparel and soft line goods into salable and salvage categories, hanging apparel, transporting and hanging apparel onto sales floor and facility security and maintenance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for providing 100% customer delight.
• Stays abreast of brand names, designer labels, current and vintage styles, and price points for soft line goods.
• Sorts apparel into boutique, salable, and salvage categories. Places all salable apparel in the hang area of the sort table, tags and/or sizes apparel, hangs apparel onto racks and transports racks of hung apparel to sales floor.
• Provides quality assurance by checking for tears, stains, wet, smelly, soiled, broken zippers, missing buttons.
• Recognizes apparel brand names, is knowledgeable on pricing, and grades quality of apparel.
• Maintains accurate sorting, hang and salvage counts per Agency standards.
• Ensure sorting and processing area remains neat and clean at all times.
• Adheres to all Agency policies and procedures; follows good safety practices including reporting safety hazards and injuries to the Retail Store Manager.

• Assists at the donor door and with loading and unloading of apparel movement equipment regularly and as needed.
• Assists with floor running, apparel rotation, cleaning dressing rooms as needed.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred.

THE PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Prolonged periods of standing.
• Must be able to stand, reach, grasp, twist, and bend on a frequent basis.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, carry or otherwise move up to fifty (50) pounds with no support regularly.
