Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Design and facilitate learning through a variety of delivery methods, including classroom and virtual instruction, online coursework, job aids and training materials.
  • Utilize and apply known adult learning principles, training methods and techniques.
  • Work with subject matter experts to create and maintain training materials.
  • Coordinate outside vendors to conduct training, as necessary. 
  • Ensure training compliance and documentation of all CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) standards.
  • Track training data, run reports and alert management of outstanding compliance issues.
  • Maintain records of employee training, background checks, BIDs, communicable disease documentation, as required for compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Provides documentation for audits, contracts, and surveys upon request from the State of Wisconsin, Family Care Contracts and DVR to maintain training compliance.
  • Practice effective project management skills in leading multiple training and development program initiatives.
  • Learn and maintain professional knowledge and certifications through educational workshops, conferences, publications, professional organizations, and networking.
  • Systematically monitors and updates training materials for mission programs. 
  • Assists with procedure verification, problem resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives based on regulations and best practices. 
  • Research service delivery techniques, as requested.
  • Collects data on quality of training and utilizes continuous improvement for revision.
  • Attains knowledge of the professional standards, regulations, and procedures related to community care of persons with disabilities and related clinical experience. 
  • Consistently perform all duties within the framework of our Core Values.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Strong verbal, public speaking and written communication skills
  • Certified instructor or willingness to become certified instructor in first aid, CPR & CBRF courses.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 
  • Familiarity with authoring software, Articulate 360, a plus.

Travel Required:

  • Routine travel to Madison Area Group Home to train staff.

Required education and/or work experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum of 2 years’ related work experience designing and facilitating training or working directly with people with disabilities and other challenges.
