Goodwill Industries of South Central Wisconsin, Inc. is Hiring a HR Administrative Assistant Near Madison, WI

Description

General Summary:

The Human Resource Administrative Assistant will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization’s human resource department. Greets and assist visitors entering the main office or calling the organization.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Provides administrative support for the organization. 
  • Creates employee badges and business cards for both new and current employees.
  • Receives all Goodwill Customers with a responsive and respectful attitude at the door and over the phone. This includes donors, shoppers, employees, vendors, visitors, and participants. 
  • Tracks all messages to our home office, including but not limited to, mail, phone, email, contact form via website and ends a monthly report to leaders. 
  • Applies postage to outgoing mail; sorts and distributes incoming mail. Maintains postage meter and copy machines, ordering service and parts when necessary.
  • Processes and records incoming checks.
  • Organizes the weekly package for accounting and delivers to shipping. 
  • Inputs financial donations to the donor database and prepares donation ‘Thank you’ letters for the CEO to sign. 
  • Assists with HRIS new hire onboarding processes, direct deposit set up, and Employee Self Service Portal. 
  • Produces a variety of reports in support of the HR department including but not limited to, compensation, retention, performance management, employee headcount. 
  • Assists with supplemental payroll processes. 
  • Completes employment verifications requested on current and former employees. 
  • Participates in projects, as integral part of the project team or project lead. 
  • Contact external vendors to report problems with software/systems where appropriate. 
  • Consistently perform all duties within the framework of our Core Values. 

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Ability to maintain confidential information. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software and willingness to learn database programs. 
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively interact and problem solve.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus 

Travel Required: None 

Required education and/or work experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred. 
  • Prior related office experience preferred.
