Overview
POSITION SUMMARY: Data entry, filing and reconciling specific accounts.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions Statement(s):
- Compares unpaid invoices to open purchase orders and initiates the payment process bydistributing copies of unmatched invoices to the correct ordering department.
- Maintains current and accurate vendor master files.
- Accurately enters invoice data, matches purchase orders, and invoices for back-updocumentation and verifies assigned expense codes to General ledger.
- Prints and prepares accurate checks and vendor invoices for mailing and filing.
- Prepares accurate documentation and processes payment in the form of accounts payablechecks, American Clearing House (ACH) transactions or wire transfers.
- Enables continuous process improvement through evaluation and recommendations for moreefficient procedures.
- Prepares and distributes the Accounts Payable Aging Reports as requested by supervisor.
- Prepares, analyzes, and distributes other relevant accounting reports as requested bysupervisor.
- Accumulates data and otherwise participates in monthly closing process as directed bysupervisor.
- Responds to vendor and Goodwill Industries of San Diego (GISD) inquiries in a timely andaccurate manner.
- Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Education: Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred.Experience: Three years related experience preferred.Computer Skills: MS Office, Accounting Software, General Ledger.
