POSITION SUMMARY:
Draft on-brand, in-voice content and execute on a copy strategy for all lines of business across all communications channels including: online/digital (website, blog, social media, digital ads, etc.), advertising, constituent communications, newsletters and other collateral, and leadership and program participant speeches.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Write brand-appropriate, engaging content to promote all lines of business for Goodwill Central Texas: shop/donate, mission, Business Solutions, The Goodwill Excel Center, the Goodwill Career & Technical Academy, recruitment, special events, newsletters and internal/corporate communications.
  • Develop and execute a content strategy to disseminate copy across appropriate channels and achieve strategic organization goals for:
  • External communications: brand awareness, revenue, mission success/recruitment, and philanthropy
  • Internal communications: team member engagement and awareness, adoption of organizational benefits, policies/procedures, internal recruitment
  • Creative and long-format/narrative writing – storytelling – to communicate successes for program participants, students, etc.
  • Speech writing for organization leadership and/or program participants for special events or engagements and organizational use (i.e. website, constituent newsletters, etc.).
  • Level of comfort working with a broad spectrum of stakeholders and writing for a wide variety of audiences.
  • Edit all incoming content for brand/voice and provide content needs for other departments.
  • Work closely with Digital Marketing Specialist and Web Developer to optimize content.
  • Provide overall support for the goals of the Marketing and Communications team including special event and project assistance.
  • Some nights and weekend work required.
  • Some travel required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 3 years of experience in professional copywriting for omni-channel marketing as well as corporate communications.
  • Proven copywriting and editing experience – samples required. Comfort interviewing and working with a broad and diverse spectrum of people.
  • Able to easily accept feedback and adapt work.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 3 to 5 three years professional experience in an in-house creative and communications team.
  • A love of writing and the ability to work at a fast pace!

Commensurate with experience.
