Goodroot is Hiring a Project Director Near Collinsville, CT

Penstock is searching for a Project Director who will be responsible for leading teams accountable for the delivery of client and internal projects. The Project Director will coordinate the effort of team members to deliver services to our clients. The successful candidate will lead and motivate a team of support staff, develop, and implement related processes and procedures, and provide guidance and leadership throughout the lifecycle of required projects. This candidate will also provide thought leadership and project portfolio-level reporting to the Executive Leadership Team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Generate timelines, estimate revenue and costs, and ensure projects meet the needs of the clients supported
  • Provide guidance and oversight for the effective and timely delivery of assigned projects
  • Facilitate the governance for project management delivery
  • Aid in the development, documentation, and implementation of internal processes and procedures to support the goals of the organization
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures
  • Periodically review team member performance
  • Ensure timely and accurate invoicing, monitor receivables, and monitor project financials to ensure profit margins are maintained
  • Inform leadership of changes to project initiatives/statuses
  • Resolve and/or escalate project issues, as necessary
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve business processes within the organization
  • Participate in regular client-facing and internal meetings
  • Ensure processes, procedures, deliverables, etc. are appropriately documented and maintained
  • Identify training needs and coordinate the efforts to ensure team members are trained/developed, as necessary
  • Develop and implement project definitions, schedules, budgets, and objectives
  • Prepare detailed statements of work and gain approval from stakeholders regarding various project aspects
  • Assist in the staffing of projects; organize project team members to ensure communication and understanding of deadlines, assignments, and objectives; and participate in work, as applicable
  • Manage costs, schedules, and quality of project deliverables and ensure adherence
  • Perform ongoing review of project status; identify and manage project risks, recommending and implementing risk mitigation strategies, as appropriate
  • Work in conjunction with team members and stakeholders to manage changes to technical requirements, business requirements, and schedule of the project; provide input on changes needed based on current project status
  • Manage client, company, and project team expectations for agreed-upon project performance by identifying and overseeing project metrics; recommend changes or alternate paths based upon performance and metrics; provide regular reporting on project-related metrics
  • Oversee assigned personnel for projects; assign work and provide direction with regard to timeliness and completion of project objectives; address performance issues within prescribed guidelines; provide performance input upon completion of project
  • Aid in the development of sales and marketing materials, as it relates to project delivery workflows and processes

Required Qualifications:

  • 10 years project management experience
  • 5 years leading high-performing teams
  • PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma Methodologies
  • Experience with Agile Methodologies
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adhere to project timelines
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Office tools, including Microsoft Project and Microsoft Visio
  • Strong business acumen, including financial management skills
  • Strong leadership capabilities
  • Ability to work effectively with and influence clients, team members, and management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong organization skills
  • Experience managing and prioritizing multiple projects to ensure quality and on-time delivery
  • Bachelor's degree in business-related field

  • 6 years of experience in the healthcare industry
  • Experience working with project management methodology including budget development, project planning, control and assurance methodologies, project management software and finance and accounting concepts and practices
  • Experience working with techniques and approaches related to the architecture, development, integration, and deployment of project phases
  • Experience working with clients, vendors, and team members to define and communicate business requirements
  • Experience providing education, support, and training of staff members and clients
