Description

Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Director of Quality Assurance, this position is responsible for monitoring all applicable food safety and quality processes to ensure food safety, regulatory compliance, and high standards are met. In addition, this position will provide training for both quality and production team members as necessary to assure that the facility, products, processes and systems conform to BRC standards and governmental regulations.

Essential Functions/ process Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Conducts direct observation daily to ensure record keeping requirements.
• Conducts record review in the absence of the Director of Quality Assurance.
• Trains team members and ensures they have mastered the process before moving to another area.
• Assist Director of Quality with validations, reassessments and quarterly internal audits.
• Develops and maintains work instructions for each quality process including HACCP and GMP’s.
• Performs sensory evaluations to ensure products have met specifications.
• Completes project work as assigned.
• Assist with customer complaint investigations.
• Maintain the hold log and communicate disposition.

Requirements

Education:

• B.S. or comparable industry experience.

Experience:

• A minimum of two years’ experience in FSQA in a food manufacturing facility.

Skills/Proficiencies:

• Supervisory experience, preferred.
• BRC experience, preferred.
• Auditing experience.
• HACCP and GMP experience.
• Able to effectively interface with all levels of the organization.
• Proficient in Microsoft office and database entry.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and workload effectively.
• Ability to work under pressure and tight timelines
• Team player with a positive, helpful attitude.
• Must be reliable with great attendance record.
