Overview

Title: Manager for Medicaid/HIPAA Compliance, Medicaid Strategy & Compliance

Reports to: HIPAA Privacy Officer/Medicaid Compliance Officer

Location: 7th Avenue

Hours: 35 Hours/Week, Exempt

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the HIPAA Privacy Officer/Medicaid Compliance Officer, with latitude for supervised judgment and decision-making, the Manager for Medicaid & HIPAA Compliance is responsible for Agency meeting the HIPAA and Medicaid standards along with relevant other government funder requirements, through monitoring and creating best practices to support compliance.

Major Du ties:

  • Remain up to date on changes to pertinent regulations and propose changes as needed.
  • Partner with programs and other support departments to identify risks, plan to mitigate risks and developing action plans.
  • Create and cultivate a culture of compliance within the agency.
  • Coordinate with Finance and HR around screenings on the Medicaid Exclusion lists.
  • Maintain and track Business Associate Agreements and any other needed contracts.
  • Ensure that contractors who provide services to the Agency are aware of the compliance requirements and have appropriate protocols in place.
  • Modify and develop policies and procedures that are consistent with current regulations and uphold the Agency’s core values.
  • Modify and develop forms that are consistent with current regulations and uphold the Agency’s core values.
  • Create reports for senior management and the Agency Compliance Committee.
  • Develop and implement mini-CIRM (Compliance & Risk Management) meetings for compliance with funder health standards.
  • Assist in internal compliance review and monitoring activities.
  • Design ongoing trainings for employees, contractors, and the governing board around the various topics including the importance of compliance and speaking up when compliance is jeopardized.
  • Supervise staff if applicable.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/ Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and 4-6 years relevant experience required.
  • Understanding of federal and state privacy laws and Medicaid regulations.
  • Clear the HR screening process as outlined in the Compliance Manual and be cleared by the required regulatory bodie
  • Excellent communication skill
  • Must have a commitment to work from a strength based. youth development and trauma-informed perspective.
