Responsible for the performance of all patient therapy and related tasks on their shift. Makes all daily work assignments for Respiratory Care staff and supervises their performance. Evaluates staffing resources on shift and makes adjustments using overtime or time off as appropriate. Ensures the appropriate utilization of equipment and supplies. Monitors equipment availability and makes minor repairs and adjustments as needed. Serves as a consult to physicians, nurses and other staff on clinical practice matters. Evaluates employees, enforces hospital and departmental policies, responds to employee issues/problems and takes disciplinary action as necessary.
Associate degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent training; Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist with NBRC is required. Candidates with five years experience and emphasis on critical care will be given preference. Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner with Indiana Professional Licensing (IPLA), ACLS and PALS is also required.
