Golden State Warriors is Hiring a Camera Operator (Part-Time) Near San Francisco, CA

About the Position

The Golden State Warriors are looking for skilled Camera Operators to highlight on-court activities and engage with our game night presenters, dance teams and fans during home games. This is a specialized position requiring experience, an eye for video composition and the ability to move quickly and steadily while controlling heavy equipment. This position reports to the Director, Scoreboard Operations.

This is a part-time position based onsite in San Francisco, CA.

Willingness and ability to provide proof of completed COVID-19 vaccination will be required. All religious, medical, or other legally recognized exemptions regarding vaccination status will be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate handheld (wired and RF) and stationary cameras during Warriors home games
  • Maintain current knowledge on all provided equipment (e.g., Sony HDC3500 camera, SMPTE cabling, lenses, tripods, etc.)
  • Report and work with Control Room Engineers on any equipment issues
  • Ensure equipment is and ready for show use as directed
  • Capture all assigned shots both on the court and around the arena as directed
  • Return equipment properly and notify engineers of any issues at the end of each event
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Experience & Skills

  • Passion for professional basketball
  • Minimum 3 years operating cameras in a live sports environment, preferably shooting basketball
  • Knowledge of proper production techniques including video, lighting and audio practices
  • Ability to perform assembly and troubleshooting of all camera system components
  • Self-starter with a “can-do” attitude, able to work independently, take initiative in fulfilling job responsibilities, and communicate effectively in a team environment

Time Commitment

  • Must be able to work majority of Warriors home games (i.e., evenings, weekends, holidays, etc.) from October to June (preseason, regular season and potential playoff games) including evenings, weekends and holidays (other non-Warriors events may be required)
  • Ability to work other non-Warriors related events as needed

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift and operate to cameras (i.e., up to 40 lbs.)
  • Ability to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time while operating equipment
  • Ability to carefully control equipment through crowded areas including some stair climbing
