Master Mechanic/Fleet Manager

Full-Time Position: Salary $70,000 base plus bonuses, PTO time, PMLA, Medical Insurance 

Position Summary:

Responsible for all phases of the fleet maintenance and repair. Which includes preventative maintenance services to ensure proper performance, safety, and reliability of the vehicles within the Golden Limousine International fleet.

We are looking for a Professional who possesses the following:

  • Experience conducting routine services
  • Experience conducting routine services and vehicle maintenance
  • Demonstrated experience inspecting vehicles for faults and repairs
  • Practical knowledge of vehicle diagnostic equipment
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to prepare work estimates and quotes
  • Sound problem-solving skills
  • Completion of an apprenticeship is advantageous

Essential Functions:

  • Perform a variety of technical tasks relative to vehicle/equipment maintenance
  • Responsible for preventative maintenance to comply with DOT inspections
  • Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, review, and participate in the work of staff responsible for vehicle and equipment cleaning
  • Establish work schedules and methods for providing vehicle and equipment maintenance and cleaning, interiors and exteriors
  • Prepare, assign, and closeout work orders
  • Maintain vehicle and equipment maintenance records and repair costs
  • Monitor, control, and order supplies, parts, and equipment; repairs and inventory
  • Prepare documents for equipment procurement
  • Routinely inspect all vehicles to ensure equipment is working properly
  • Maintains vehicle service records; handles warranty repairs
  • Keeps up to date on job knowledge using available resources
  • performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested

Experience, Skills, and Abilities preferred

  • 3 years of progressive automotive, heavy truck/bus mechanic experience
  • 2 years of supervisory experience
  • 1 year of transportation fleet management experience
  • Experience in diagnostic and repair of gasoline and diesel engines, braking systems, suspension and steering systems, electrical systems, and drive train.
  • Experienced with DOT inspection criteria
  • Certifications in Heavy Duty Breaks (additional certifications a plus)
  • Experience in inventory management for supplies and equipment
  • Experience in training, evaluating, and supervising staff
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Leadership skills – managing a department with direct reports in a fast-paced environment
  • Coaching ability to work with team and train new hires

Physical Demands:

  • Work is performed primarily in a shop environment; occasional field environment with some local travel; exposure to noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, noxious odors, gases and all types of weather and temperature conditions; work and/or walk on various types of surfaces including slippery or uneven surfaces and rough terrain; incumbents may be required to work extended hours including evenings and weekends.
  • Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a mechanic shop environment; walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods of time; frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, and twist; push, pull, lift and/or carry moderate to heavy amounts of weights; operate assigned equipment and vehicles; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
  •  See in normal visual range with or without correction
  • Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction
  • Ability to lift up to 70 LBS.
