What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Clerk position at Gold Flora, LLC.?

We are looking for a responsible accounting clerk to perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks in a fast-paced environment. An accounting clerk is responsible for providing support to the accounting with their primary responsibilities including sales booking, filing, cash logs, and bank reconciliations as well as other ad-hoc assignments and duties such as responding to correspondence and scheduling meetings. The accounting clerk plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting procedures and policies. The ideal candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills and have experience using MS Excel, NetSuite and/or SAP. Training will be provided but previous experience is a major plus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining organized and up-to-date records by handling documents, such as invoices, receipts, purchase orders, and other financial records, in both physical and electronic formats. Ensure proper labeling, categorization, and easy retrieval of files when needed.
  • Recording and tracking cash transactions. This includes maintaining cash logs, reconciling cash receipts with sales transactions, as well as expenses, and preparing cash deposit slips.
  • Perform bank reconciliations to ensure that the company's financial records match the bank statements. This involves comparing the recorded transactions in the accounting system with the bank transactions, identifying discrepancies, and investigating and resolving any issues.
  • Basic bookkeeping: The clerk(s) will be responsible for accurately recording sales transactions and booking them into the accounting system. This includes booking journal entries to reflect POS data, verifying sales orders, preparing invoices, and ensuring that all relevant information is captured for proper documentation and record-keeping.
  • General Support: The accounting clerk may also assist with other general accounting tasks as needed. This can include data entry, preparing financial reports, assisting with payroll processing, employee expense reimbursements, and providing support during audits.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in accounting or finance is a plus.
  • Proven experience as an accounting clerk or in a similar role.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Must be able to type at least 50 WPM & be proficient with 10-key
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office (especially Excel).
  • Experience using NetSuite and/or SAP is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
