GoFundMe is seeking a highly skilled and versatile Generalist Machine Learning Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to conduct research and build machine learning systems to improve the experience for our campaign organizers, donors, and supporters.

The Job…

• Building and testing machine learning models to solve a range of business challenges, including Fraud Detection, fundraiser Recommendations, and more.
• Delivering scalable and high-performance ML solutions for various GoFundMe products.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and optimization using machine learning techniques.
• Create metrics and configure A/B testing to evaluate model performance offline and online to inform and convey our impacts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Staying up-to-date with the latest machine learning research and techniques, and incorporating them into your work as appropriate.

You…

• BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field 
• At least 8 years of experience building end-to-end machine learning products, from data gathering, to model training and tuning, to deploying to production and monitoring its performance 
• Strong experience wrangling, processing, and analyzing big data using Apache Spark or similar technology
• Ability to write an end-to-end pipeline code that is modular, scalable, and easy for future team members to build upon.
• Strong programming skills and experience with Python, data manipulation (SQL, Spark, Pandas), and popular machine learning tools (PyTorch, Tensorflow, Scikit-learn, XGBoost, JAX), or comparable experience.
• Experience with information retrieval and is comfortable experimenting with and incorporating cutting-edge techniques into our existing system
• Ping pong skills, an appreciation for boba tea, and a sense of humor (optional but appreciated).

The total annual salary for this full-time position is $150,000 - $200,000 equity benefits. As this is a remote position, the salary range was determined by role, level, and possible location across the US. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range based on your location during the hiring process.
