GMMB is Hiring an IT Manager Near Washington, DC

Overview

Are you up for a meaningful challenge? Do you aspire to use your creativity to drive social change?

Then come join our team of sharp, passionate and (sometimes) quirky activists. In our 30 years, we’ve helped elect presidents; fought for stricter regulations on tobacco, drunk driving and carbon emissions; united foster children with their forever families; and helped bring health coverage to all Americans.

Our mission: to create real and lasting change in the world. And between our D.C. home base, San Francisco and our Seattle office you’ll find all the know-how and drive to create advocacy campaigns that deliver real results.

We are…social and digital strategists, communications and advertising gurus, designers, writers, media planners and multi-media producers.

We are looking for an IT Manager to oversee technology for GMMB’s DC, Seattle, and San Francisco offices as well as remote staff. The IT Manager will help guide IT Strategy with a strong focus on technologies that enhance our hybrid office environment. A solutions-oriented approach to IT is a must.

This is a hands-on role. As part of a small team, this role will need to be able to provide backup for other IT staff when needed.

This position is based 100% onsite in GMMB’s DC Office with limited remote work opportunities available. Occasional travel to GMMB’s Seattle office is required.

Responsibilities

This position reports jointly to the Managing Partner and CFO. The IT Manager’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring IT infrastructure and Cloud Storage
  • Leading IT Security for all employees at GMMB
  • Managing IT Staff
  • Overseeing Intranet development, roll out and management
  • IT Help Desk oversight
  • Owning and facilitating IT Onboarding and Offboarding
  • Serving as point person for audio visual and conference room technology

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of management experience required
  • 7-8 years of overall IT experience required
  • Experience in leading an organization’s IT department and related efforts
  • Experience supporting both MAC and PC operating systems required
  • Prior experience with Box cloud storage preferred
  • Prior experience with SharePoint preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience managing others and the ability to serve as a teacher and mentor to junior staff

GMMB is an equal opportunity employer. All applicants are considered without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, marital status, veteran status or any other discriminatory factors prohibited by law.
