Position Summary:

The Terminal Manager reports to the Regional Operations Manager and VP of Operations and is responsible for managing the overall functionality of the terminal. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Manages supervisors, dispatchers, and overall operations of terminal.
  • Effectively communicates with customers relating to servicing their needs.
  • Typing, filing, faxing, calculating, administering employee issues, and training employee.
  • Teach, train and administer discipline up to and including termination of nonexempt employees as needed
  • Manages employee's hours in payroll system.
  • Assist in hiring process and administer performance reviews as needed.
  • Dispatch drivers and track equipment as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three years related experience and/or training; or combination of education and experience. At least three years' experience preferred; however, each applicant's qualifications will be weighed on a case by case basis.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Possess the ability to read, write and speak in English and have ability to speak effectively before groups of employees or customers, along with the ability to read and interpret documents, such as policies and procedures, freight bills, bills of lading, computer reports, credit reports, invoices, work orders, and correspondence. Possess the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers.

REASONING ABILITY: Have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions and the ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Must possess a valid California Class C Driver's License and operate a motor vehicle.
