Global Power Components is Hiring a Project Analyst Near Milwaukee, WI

Project Analyst

 

Position

The Project Analyst is responsible for monitoring the progress of projects, investigating variances, monitoring changes in scope and ensuring that our pricing models are appropriately applied at all stages of the project. Reporting to the accounting department, this position will work closely with accounting, sales, project managers, and engineering to fulfill these responsibilities. 

Responsibilities

  • Review pricing on all new orders. Identify any discrepancies in the application of our pricing model.
  • Prepare and maintain project budgets. Track performance of project vs budget and communicate any shortfalls when identified.
  • Identify changes in the initial scope of project. If billable, verify and track change orders. If not, investigate root cause of change, e.g., code compliance, engineering requirement.
  • Coordinate close out meeting with Project Manager and other stakeholders. This will include a final review of financial performance for this project.
  • Maintain effective relationships with Accounting, Project Managers and Engineering to obtain and verify required data. Prepare Accounting schedules routinely and as requested for internal reporting requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting or related experience. Other backgrounds will be considered but knowledge of financial concepts is a must.
  • Ability to understand the manufacturing environment and the associated financial processes; Knowledge of supply chain, receiving, inventory flow, operations process and manufacturing principles. Can read a blueprint.
  • Strong ability to assess problem situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, and make recommendations and/or resolve the problem
  • Ability to effectively analyze transactional level detail from various sources and articulate the key findings to management
  • Ability to multi-task and drive actions to completion under strict deadlines. 
  • Positive “can do” attitude and highly analytical; enjoys challenges.
  • Action-oriented and solution-driven with the ability to thrive in a fast pace environment
