POSITION Investor Relations Assistant, Capital and Impact Team

LOCATION Seattle

BACKGROUND

Global Partnerships (GP) is an impact-first investor dedicated to expanding opportunity for people living in poverty. Impact-first investing means investing in a way that seeks the greatest possible social impact, while seeking to preserve capital with a modest financial return for investors. GP believes that impact-first investing has an essential role to play in advancing sustainable solutions to poverty for millions of people worldwide.

GP creates and manages impact-first investment funds that make loans and early-stage investments in social enterprises serving people living in poverty in less developed countries, primarily in Latin America and Africa. The GP team is comprised of mission-driven, dedicated, high-performing colleagues working primarily from offices in Seattle, Washington, Bogotá, Colombia, and Nairobi, Kenya. The investor relations (IR) function sits within GP’s Capital and Impact Team. The purpose of the IR function is to source, sustain and steward more than $180 million in impact-first fund capital and over $3 million in annual philanthropic support from a diverse community of investors and donors.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Investor Relations Assistant will be a proactive administrative professional with a customer service orientation. The ideal candidate will bring excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and emotional intelligence to their work. They will be energized by developing and managing systems to constantly improve the investor and donor experience. As someone who enjoys data management and shines in logistics and events/meeting planning, the Investor Relations Assistant will excel by providing critical behind-the-scenes support that enables strong cultivation and stewardship of GP’s donor and investor relationships.

Reporting to the Vice President of Investor Relations, the Investor Relations Assistant is a new role that will be responsible for the following:

Investor/Donor Relationship Support

  • Provide timely, high-quality customer support, managing inbound information requests and inquiries from current and prospective investors and donors, including high-net-worth individuals, foundations, family offices, and religious organizations.
  • Support the full cycle of these relationships, including prospect research, cultivation, solicitation, documentation, and stewardship.
  • Provide relationship managers and leadership team members with detailed briefings and information on current and prospective investors and donors in advance of meetings.
  • Support due diligence processes executed by potential investors, philanthropists, and wealth managers.
  • Work closely with the Vice President of Investor Relations and the Operations Officer to support – and as needed conduct – transactions and related communications (e.g. donor acknowledgments, pledge reminders, etc).
  • Ensure seamless execution of 2-4 small-to-medium-sized events per year.
  • Coordinate a regular cadence of meetings and travel for leadership team to engage and inspire existing and new investors and philanthropic supporters.

Managing Systems

  • Lead relationship data tracking in GP’s Investor CRM, maintaining accurate and up-to-date donor and investor contact, opportunity, activity, and documentation records alongside transactional and legal data tracked by GP’s Operations Officer, working closely with the Operations and Information Systems Officers to drive continuous improvement.
  • Maintain additional CRM functionality in tracking donor/investor interests, engagements, and targeting.
  • Develop, operationalize, and maintain reporting frameworks to support the investor/donor lifecycle, including biweekly reporting on revenue generation and investment activity.
  • Support email and direct mail communications by managing, maintaining, and as needed creating new mailing lists; collaborating with IR colleagues to develop copy and content; and executing mailings.
  • Manage investor portal accounts on the GP website and provide customer support for portal access.
  • Help facilitate high accountability and compliance standards for investors, including coordinating across multiple GP teams to gather and compile quantitative and qualitative data, legal documents, and organizational information.

General:

  • Ensure assigned work is delivered on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate and manage production of GP swag, including but not limited to donor, investor, board, committee, and staff service gifts.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience providing administrative and/or investor/donor support in a professional environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite required
  • Ability to reside and work legally in the United States for Global Partnerships (without GP sponsorship) required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Spanish and/or French language skills desired
