$20.00 - $21.00 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Customer Service Liaison Manager, the Customer Service Liaison (Patient Advocate) will directly resolve patient complaints. The Customer Service Liaison (Patient Advocate) wnitor till monitor the types of complaints and quantity received. The Customer Service Liaison (Patient Advocate) will resolve all complaints within established time frames while ensuring strict adherence to corporate compliance and federal HIPAA regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a liaison between AMR’s patients, operations and billing department. Review and resolve escalated patient complaints received via a proprietary billing system, email, fax, and telephone.
  • Oversee charity requests and the processing of charity discounts.
  • Track and maintain information on the type and quantity of charity discounts as directed.
  • Demonstrate an ability to professionally communicate and work well with others (e.g., customers, facilities, AMR Operations, and payors)
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Complete special projects and perform other duties as assigned
  • Work in office or hybrid setting.
  • Be flexible with shifting daily priorities and keep up with a fast paced environment.

Education/Licensing/Certification: A High School Diploma or GED required, Associate Degree or higher level of education, preferred.

Experience: Three (3) years prior work experience with phone and customer service duties, preferred. One year experience in medical billing or front office, preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Basic understanding of medical transportation processes and medical terminology.
  • Basic definitions of ALS/BLS/SCT/CCT/Wheelchair levels of service.
  • Proficient understanding of HIPAA requirements.
  • Basic proficiency working with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Communicate effectively, (both orally and in writing) in English.
