Title: Senior Sterilization Technician Location: NJ/NYC Job Description: This field-based position is responsible for customer support, focused on preventive and corrective maintenance of sterilization equipment utilized in hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and community health centers. The successful candidate will have the ability to or troubleshoot and diagnose minor and complex technical issues independently. You should also be a self-starter with the ability to manage service call scheduling, parts inventory and customer relations with minimal supervision. In addition, the successful candidate will represent Global Med Systems in a positive, professional manner. Responsibilities of Sterilization Technician:
Maintain operability of steam sterilizers, washer decontaminators, cart washers, internal steam generators, stand alone steam generators, and all supporting equipment
Ensure regulatory compliance, assist in inventory management, and may serve as advisor to other GMS personnel on technical matters concerning specialty equipment
Conduct performance assurance inspections, scheduled preventive maintenance, and operational verification procedures on sterilization and decontamination equipment and systems
Repair and calibrate sterilization and decontamination equipment and systems
Maintain field related expertise through ongoing training and education
Ensure accuracy and integrity of the equipment database to include inventory, preventive maintenance schedules, and service history
Adhere all regulatory agency compliances and other applicable policies and procedures
Ensure all service and documentation is complete, timely and accurate
Build and maintain customer relationships
Discuss equipment status and functionality with customers
Perform periodic inspection of current inventory status and maintain common failure parts inventory to ensure equipment uptime
Verify completion of security analysis for new customer equipment
Demonstrate and promote professional and ethical work environment
Provide service and customer support during field visits
Work independently to perform preventive maintenance and corrective services to our client base
Produce timely and detailed service reports
Follow all companys procedures and protocols
Cooperate with technical team and share information across the organization
Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations/briefings
Build positive relationships with clients
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of experience in the repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation of sterilization and decontamination equipment
Electrical knowledge and ability to read and understand wiring diagrams and schematics
Plumbing knowledge and ability to read and understand piping diagrams and plumbing components
Use and understand operation of digital multi-meter and amp meter
Troubleshoot and repair electrical motor circuits, internal steam generators and pneumatic systems
Sweat pipe, create flare and swage connections
Perform temperature and pressure calibrations on sterilization and decontamination equipment
Knowledge in different types of sterilization cycles
