Global Hires is looking for an ALL-STAR Data Analyst for our client in the packaging industry. Their mission is to collaboratively craft innovative, high-quality packaging solutions that balance the needs of their clients with the ever-evolving needs of their consumers. The organization knows that data is the foundation to making smart decisions and requests an ALL-STAR Data Analyst to identify and communicate data-driven insights to maximize efficient operations and other initiatives. You will turn raw data into information, information into insight, and insight into business decisions.

The ideal team member should be passionate about finding insights in large datasets, synthesizing, and communicating results to drive business results and growth. You will work cross-functionally with Product Management, Engineering, Plant Quality, Sales, and Finance Departments. This position requires successful candidate to be a self-starter, managing and providing consistent and reliable reporting and analysis, in addition to utilizing primary and secondary research methods.

This role is an onsite, full-time position based out of the Modesto, CA office.

Job Functions & Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
  • Filter and “clean” data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code patterns.
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends and patterns in complex data sets.
  • Acquire data from primary and secondary data sources and maintain databases and data systems.
  • Provide analytical, statistical, and programming to identify key market trends focused on insights, user growth and content by performing market and competitive analyses.
  • Work with the management team to prioritize business data and information needs.
  • Monitor performance and quality controls plans to identify improvements.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Skills:

  • Technical expertise regarding data models, databases design development, data mining, and segmentation techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of reporting packages (business objects etc.), databases (SQL etc.), programming (SML, JavaScript, or ETL frameworks).
  • Strong knowledge of statistics and statistical packages for analyzing datasets using visualization tools such as Python, R, Excel, and Tableau.
  • Extensive knowledge of programming language.
  • Strong data analytic skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of raw data into reports.
  • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Creative and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, presentation and graphical skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.

Education/Experience & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Information Technology, or related field required.
  • Master’s degree in Analytics or Data Science preferred.
  • 3-5 years proven work experience as a data analyst or business data analyst.
  • Proven experience in data extraction, data cleaning, data loading, statistical data analysis, exploratory data analysis, and predictive modeling.
  • Experience using SPSS, SAS, Power BI, and Tableau.
