Global Community Charter School is Hiring a Director of Operations Near New York, NY

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND POSITION OVERVIEW

Global Community Charter School (GCCS) is a Harlem-based PreK-8th grade International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. Our students develop critical and creative thinking skills through inquiry-based, culturally competent curriculum.

We're looing for a dynamic Director of Operations (DOO) to be a critical part of the school’s administrative backbone. The right candidate will work alongside school leaders to support the efficient delivery of school support systems and maintain a workplace that supports GCCS values of Students First, Teamwork, Diversity, and Excellence. The DOO is responsible for seeing student records, student information systems, transportation, food service, facility management and operational compliance.

To succeed in this role you will be skilled in thinking systematically and analytically about process and practice improvement, have strong attention to detail, and project management skills.

Essential Functions:

Plan & Manage School Events

  • Direct logistics of school ceremonies and special events
  • Manage all Field Trips logistics
  • Partner with school staff to maximize operational performance according to the seasonal activities for the school
  • Work closely with COO and leadership team to execute growth plans and identify consistently identify ways to improve process and protocol

Facilities & Transportation

  • Collaborate with ops team on facilities upgrades and maintenance; liaise with contractors and project management staff as needed to ensure smooth daily operations 
  • Build strong working knowledge of both ES & MS schools - coordinate routine maintenance and hold facilities team accountable for follow through 

School Food Authority 

  • Main point of contact for our Food Service Management Company, setting expectations for student experience
  • Lead internal communication on school logistics and events
  • Oversee data collection and reporting to Child Nutrition office for reimbursement

COVID19 Protocols

  • Ensure GCCS is current with local guidelines and communicating regularly with staff and families

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is a must.
  • A M.A., Ed.M or Master’s degree preferred.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • A minimum of 4-5 years of demonstrated success in operations, teaching experience desirable
  • Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation and interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with a diverse staff
  • Ability to connect and build positive relationships with teachers and staff
  • Be a team player - a desire to work in a team-oriented environment and collaborate effectively with colleagues
