Glenn O Hawbaker Inc is Hiring a Transportation Dispatcher Near Pleasant Gap, PA

Job Summary:
Responsible for the day to day scheduling and dispatching of lowboys throughout the operational regions to ensure the safe, efficient transport and movement of GOH equipment and external customer equipment moves. This is an 
hourly, non exempt position that will work independently with minimal supervision.
Essential Functions:
* Receive process and dispatch orders from both internal and external customers for low bed, tanker, fuel, equipment and material transport needs. Coordinate schedules to maximize backhauls and outside hauling opportunities.
* Interact with internal and external customers to ensure customer confidence and satisfaction.
* Maintain daily/hourly communication with drivers on their daily schedule and any safety, equipment or scheduling issues to 
ensure hauling efficiency and fulfillment of customer/company needs. Proactively communicate issues to Fleet Compliance Officer. 
* Assist the Fleet Compliance Officer, Regional Transportation Managers, company management and the driver fleet to ensure an efficient and timely internal and external delivery force.
* Maintain qualified, competent, proficient, safe and highly motivated subcontractor pool to provide backup transport services.
* Prepare reports showing status of transport operations.
* Maintain DOT driver records and all compliance issues related to equipment and drivers, except driver qualification files.
* Coordinate all permitting activities for loads verifying DOT compliance in all areas and ensuring no DOT violations of any 
nature.
* Coordinate/document random DOT inspections of tractors and trailer with maintenance operations.
* Coordinate and cooperate with maintenance operations on equipment repairs, maintenance or any safety issues that need to be addressed.
* Exercise proper care and maintenance of company equipment.
* Frequently work more than 40 hours per week and non traditional hours including night shift, Saturdays and occasionally 
Sundays.
* Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
Knowledge of:
* State and Federal regulations regarding vehicle weights, rules of the road, hours of service and security standards.
* GOH geographical area.
* Local, state and federal traffic laws.
* Microsoft Office software.
* Dispatcher scheduling software/APRAS/Viewpoint/Heavy Job Manager
Ability to:
* Learn and follow GOH company policies and procedures.
* Use computer and related office equipment.
* Work in a professional manner in a high stress, fast paced environment.
* Multi task
* Work with direct and indirect supervision.
Qualifications: 
* Demonstrate above average organizational, analytical and memory skills to effectively and efficiently handle multiple priorities with short deadlines.
* Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
* Prefer a valid driver's license for the state in which you reside with acceptable driving record per company minimum 
standards for drivers.
* Valid CDL preferred.
Education: 
* High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: 
* Minimum of 3 years dispatch experience in a construction or transportation environment preferred.

* Constant (67 100%) Ability to read PC screens and read normal type sized print.
