Position Summary:The primary focus of the Manufacturing Process Engineer develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly procedures, and quality control standards. Responsible for the creation and maintenance of technical documentation involved with the assembly and qualification of Gleason Automation Systems automated products.Job Responsibilities: A thorough understanding of integrated electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems as well as related manufacturing processesMechanical Engineering Drawing checkingCreation and maintenance of assembly build processesCost reduction suggestions, from a component level and a manufacturing levelManufacturing Vendor QualificationsWork with Mechanical Engineering to ensure “Design for Manufacturability” is implementedWork with other technical disciplines to specify and implement features to support the design of automation equipmentAttend & participate in design reviews for proposed designsProvide technical support for Manufacturing, Debug, Test, Runoff, Customer, and Field ServicePerform other tasks and activities as neededQualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):Extensive experience with 3D Modeling (i.e., SolidWorks) and 2D Drafting Software (i.e., AutoCAD)Experience with application of GD&T in design and detailsExperience in machine and mechanism designExperience with automation equipment i.e., robotics, drives, transmission devicesExtensive experience with fabrication methods and tolerances for manufacture of industrial automation equipment (i.e., machining, sheet metal, welding, finishing, & additive manufacturing is a plus)Preferred Education/Training/Experience:Bachelors degree in Manufacturing Engineering, with emphasis on Machine Design, Electromechanical Systems, Automation, RoboticsComputer Skills:3D Modeling (i.e., SolidWorks) and 2D Drafting Software (i.e., AutoCAD)Business Systems Software (i.e., ERP, MRP, PDM)MS Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Project or other Project Management SoftwareIntranet (Time and Attendance) and other basic computer skillsTravel Requirements: Negligible
