Gladstone Psychiatry and Wellness is recruiting for Patient Account Representatives to join our Revenue Cycle department. The Patient Account Representative works closely with the Billing Department by ensuring patient payments are collected and processed and investigating and resolving patient inquiries about payments and applications.

Assists the department by organizing collection procedures and meeting performance goals while adhering to current laws and payer regulations and reducing uncompensated care.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Collects copayments, coinsurance, deductibles, and self-pay balances from patients.
• Contacts patients regarding balance due for scheduled appointment or service
• Generate invoices to clients, ensuring that all necessary documentation is included as required
• Research patient’s discrepancies and past due amounts
• Sends email correspondence on past due account and collections
• Respond to incoming patient inquiries regarding payments and applications
• Update patient records to reflect accurate balance and payment history
• Provide back-up assistance as needed to front desk staff
• Performs other related duties as assigned
• Provide stellar, compassionate, customer service to patients and their representatives.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Basic mathematics and number facility skills (ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly and correctly; Experience in/knowledge of accounting skills a plus
• Ability to use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to demonstrate sound decision-making
• Experience using Windows/Office, Google Suite, or Mac Office programs and cloud-based software
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to effectively manage your time, prioritize multiple tasks, and maximize performance while remaining customer focused

Education and Experience:

• Highschool Diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum 1 year experience in high-volume customer service, preferably in payment processing role
