GitHub is Hiring a Remote Executive Assistant

The Executive Assistant will be the "right hand" to VP, Global Corporate Sales, clarifying and tuning their schedule and managing their Rhythm of the Business. This person needs to have a strong level of business acumen that can be applied to key decision making. Additionally, this assistant will manage a tightly scoped set of projects, such as workforce planning, organizational surveys and engagement, gathering stakeholders for key meetings, and team event planning and coordination.

This role will provide an outsized opportunity to learn the functions and patterns of a born-in-the cloud business that exhibits benefits of being both a small business but within the context of a larger organization (Microsoft). You'll be entrusted with highly sensitive information on a regular basis relating to M&A activity, financial plans, and strategic partnerships. If you are energetic, organized, and comfortable clarifying the value and impact of an action before performing it, this might be the right role for you. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced environment and capable of making decisions with minimal guidance. We're looking for an individual who sees problems as puzzles to solve, and is resourceful in their ingredients to the solution. By nature, this person is well-organized. If your sock drawer is color-coded, vacation plans for next fall already confirmed, files are neatly labeled, and taxes are done a month early, this could be your dream role.

This role can be based out of any major Western US city supporting the Vice President in our Revenue org. This role will need to work across multiple time zones.

Responsibilities:

  • Arrange complex and detailed travel plans, for both international and domestic, as well as itineraries and agendas.
  • Provide administrative support to the Vice President, including calendar, and expense management in a timely manner.
  • Help to organize training activities and on-boarding sessions including managing logistics, agendas, speakers, and rooms for on-boarding & learning activities.
  • Budgeting, planning, and organization of large-scale events, such as all-hands meetings and quarterly business reviews (QBRs).
  • Proactively resolve time-sensitive issues, demonstrating excellent judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Manage logistical and operational needs to enable activity across all channels.
  • Schedule meetings, mini-summits and annual meetings to drive deal flow and team collaboration both internally and externally.
  • Assist with presentations, talks and media communications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Handle confidential information professionally.
  • Anticipate the needs of a busy team and help them be more successful.
  • Manage meeting agendas, notes and minutes, and follow-up items.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience as an administrative assistant in an energizing environment. 
  • Experience working in technical environments and comfortable with project management.
  • Strong attention to detail when handling priorities, projects, and deadlines.
  • Skilled in multitasking across various stakeholder needs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to anticipate and prioritize needs.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with a highly technical audience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with all levels and departments within the organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly like GitHub and various internal productivity tools.
  • Proficient in office software such as calendars, spreadsheets, presentation apps, Slack and OS X.
  • Flexible when it comes to responsiveness and adaptive to an ever-changing environment. Available to travel to the San Francisco office for events.
  • Understanding of a sales organization.
  • Skilled with creative, critical thinking.

*Colorado Only - Minimum salary of $58,800 to maximum $124,800.
